Pedego Ottawa and Pedego Montebello Supporting Cycling Team with Ebike Donation
April 13, 2023
Pedego has donated two ebikes in support of a team of cyclists from the Outaouais school boards and service centres that is participating in the annual Grand Defi Pierre Lavoie bike fundraiser.
The all-women team will hold different fundraising events and initiatives, including a raffle of two Pedego electric bikes, until June 8, when they will leave for Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and have four days to bike 1000 kms to Montréal. The team of five will be cycling 1000 km in 60 straight hours.
The Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie raises millions of dollars each year to promote healthy lifestyles among elementary school children and to support research on hereditary orphan diseases. In 2022, it generated more than $3.1 million.
To help these educators raise money, Pedego has donated two ebikes for raffling off – the Pedego Latch valued at $3495 and the Pedego Ford Supercruiser bike valued at $4995.
“The team of five cyclists is taking on a huge challenge (1000 km in 60 straight hours) on traditional bikes. I keep thinking how comfortable this race would be with a Pedego ebike,” laughs Remi Gagnon. “Instead, I am happy to help by donating ebikes in support of healthy lifestyle habits.”
I addition to the raffle, the Outaouais team is hosting fundraising dinners. A total of $5000 from the fundraiser will be coming back to elementary school programs in the region.
“For each of us, the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie will be the perfect opportunity to surpass ourselves in addition to contributing in different ways to the well-being of the community. What a great opportunity! Many thanks to Pedego Montebello and Pedego Ottawa for contributing so significantly,” says team member Jésabelle Dicaire.
